As a smaller city known for the famous Red Bull Ring, Spielberg has more than just the track to its name. Fun day trips down to the Erzberg iron mountain allows visitors to explore the open-pit mining area and all of its wealth it has to give to Austria. Guests can learn the history of the abbey at the Seckau Abbey, located 15 minutes north of Spielberg’s center. Expect to learn insights into the history and function of the abbey, as well as sacral art from centuries past all the way to modern times. The Abbey even has a schnapps distillery to visit.

After full days in Spielberg, stopping by a local restaurant for a bite to eat is effortless with many options to choose from. The Bachwirt is just a short drive to taste your palate with savory meals of beef, chicken, pork, hearty vegetables and more. A menu favorite is the haftes Rindsgulasch im Pfandl, or a savory beef goulash with spaetzle. Another option is the Schloss Farrach located in the Castle Farrach.  With great breakfast, light lunches, and fantastic dinners for every palate, you won’t leave hungry from Schloss Farrach. Throughout your adventures in Spielberg you’re sure to find exactly what you want to eat during your racing weekend!

With its bright red façade with stone sculptures, the café is hard to miss. There are cakes, pastries, and local breakfast for the early risers.
