Kevin Magnussen

The Danish ace will be our special guest of honour at the Paddock Club Reception in China, Hungary and Abu Dhabi; secure your Trophy or Hero Ticket Package for access to the Paddock Club Reception, plus a host of other exclusive benefits! Magnussen will also be appearing in the Champions Club at the Ermanno Penthouse during the Monaco Grand Prix.

In 1995, a promising young Dane made his Formula 1 debut with McLaren. That man was Jan Magnussen and in a delightful twist of fate, some 19 years later, the same team handed an F1 chance to his son, Kevin.

Born in Roskilde in 1992, Kevin Magnussen joined the motorsport fast track by taking up karting at an early age, followed by a move to the Danish Formula Ford championship, where he scored 11 victories. He stepped up to Formula Renault shortly after and kept the momentum going in the German Formula Three series in 2010. Magnussen moved around for the next few years before McLaren recruited him for the 2014 Formula 1 season, alongside Jenson Button.

With an immediate impact in his debut season, Magnussen secured a podium in Australia and broke into the points 11 more times throughout the year. Magnussen moved into a reserve driver position with McLaren for 2015 and was hired the following year by the newly rebranded Renault team hired him as the late replacement for Pastor Maldonado.

After a shaky season in 2016, Magnussen didn’t hesitate to move to the up-and-coming Haas squad for 2017, where he scored 19 points and finished a respectable 14th in the World Championship. Remaining with Haas for 2018, the Dane was a revelation, scoring 56 points and finishing in 9th place in the driver’s standings.

Romain Grosjean

The Swiss-French driver will be making a special appearance at his home race, the 2019 French Grand Prix. Secure your Trophy or Hero Ticket Package for Circuit Paul Ricard to meet Romain Grosjean at the Paddock Club Reception. Grosjean will also be joining us in the Champions Club at La Marée Restaurant during the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix.

Born in Geneva in 1986, Romain Grosjean races under a French license, but still lives in the Swiss City. He caught the racing bug relatively late; he was 14 when he began his professional karting career.

Grosjean caught the attention of Renault and was signed up as their test driver in 2008 before graduating to the role of third driver for the 2009 season. After teammate Nelson Piquet’s contract came to a premature end in August 2009, Renault promoted their protégé Grosjean to fill the seat alongside double World Champion Fernando Alonso for the last seven races of the season.

Dropped for the 2010 season, Grosjean regrouped away from F1, tackling other series like the Auto GP championship, FIA GT and GP2. He also competed in the Le Mans and Spa 24-hour races. In 2012, Grosjean was re-signed by Renault (now Lotus), to partner Kimi Raikkonen for the 2012 season. In Bahrain, Grosjean finished third behind Sebastian Vettel and team mate Raikkonen, the first of three podiums in 2012. Grosjean’s reputation was transformed in 2013, where he made six podium appearances, including a second-place finish at the United States Grand Prix.

Grosjean remained with Lotus for two more years before signing with the all-new American Haas team for 2016, where he ran consistently and collected all of the team’s 29 points. He followed up with another consistent season in 2017, scoring 28 points and finishing 13th in the World Championship. After enduring a difficult start to the 2018 Formula 1 season, Grosjean finished a season-best 4th in Austria and followed up with regular points finishes in the second half of the season to finish 14th in the drivers’ standings.

An executive from the Haas F1 Team will also be making a special guest appearance in the Champions Club at the 2019 Canadian Grand Prix. You can also join us for the Haas Hangout at the 2019 United States Grand Prix; included with Racer Ticket Packages or you can purchase a la carte access.
