F1 Experiences Features

Photo Diary: Belgian Grand Prix

When guests go to a race, the thrill of the cars speeding past can be a memory of a lifetime. Giving fans a chance to go behind the scenes is what F1® Experiences is all about. We're here to provide each fan a unique experience because like each driver and each car, each circuit is different.

After a full weekend in Spa-Francorchamps, we've gathered some of our favorite photos to give you a full, in-depth look at what a memory filled weekend with F1® Experiences will provide for you.

Pit Lane Walk

Starting off Thursday evening was the Pit Lane Walk. We first stopped in at the F1® Experiences garage, which is home to our two-seater that provides rides around the track. We were in front of the barriers during our walk and had an unrestricted look into each team’s garage. Here we've stopped in front of Red Bull Racing's garage for a quick photo.

Pit Lane Walk 2

It's not unusual to see drivers, team captains, and more while walking through the pit lane and paddock. We got treated to Lewis Hamilton who popped out from the Mercedes garage to meet with some fans. One customer, Terry, was lucky enough to get an autograph from Lewis!

Drive The Track Tour

The Drive the Track tour is always a fun opportunity to experience the circuit from a flatbed truck and see what the drivers see as they speed around the circuit. Sometimes on the tour our guests may get the chance to see teams walking the track as well. During this specific tour, guests noticed McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne walking the track.

Champions Club

Moving to Friday morning, guests could hang out inside the Champions Club and watch practice sessions high above the circuit or adventure around the circuit to events such as the Fan Zone. The desserts passed around the club after lunch were the highlight of the day, yum!

Two Seater Car Ride

Another popular event for F1® Experiences is the Ultimate Legend Ticket Package which includes a ride in our two-seater car around the track. These guests receive photo and video footage to remember their ride, as well as a commemorative souvenir. One of our guests, Stefan, had a blast in the car but almost didn't get to go because of the rain earlier in the day!

Max Verstappen

Friday night was a highlight for our guests when they got a meet-and-greet opportunity with Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen. We hosted the event in the Champions Club before our popular Paddock and Track Tour!

Max Verstappen Meet and Greet

Each guest had time to chat with Max, pose for a quick photo, and even get items autographed that they brought with them. F1® Experiences is always striving to give our guests access to drivers for another unforgettable moment to check off their bucket lists.

Paddock And Track Tour 1

After the meet-and-greet, we walked in front of pit lane to meet up with Christian Pollhammer, Formula One® Operations Manager, who started off our Paddock and Track Tour by taking us up to the podium, with a peek inside the driver cool-down room, all while providing insider information on the circuit and Formula One.

Paddock And Track Tour 2

Here on the podium, Christian provided our group with more of the inside scoop of the podium ceremony and specifics about the podium to each race. After this, we all lined up to take a photo on the podium that each guest receives post-event.

Podium Photo

This is a shot of some of our guests up on the podium! This is definitely a photo that you don't get to take very often!

Formula 1 Safety Car

We were then led down towards the safety car where Bernd Maylander, the safety car driver, taught us about the car and his position for leading the cars around the circuit. The most important thing to remember is his expertise of each track, because he has led a lap at all of them! Our guests also got to sit in the car and take photos during this part of the tour as well.

Pirelli Tyre Tent

Next on the Paddock and Track Tour, we walked through the Pirelli Tyre Tent. Here, the technicians work on the tyres to prepare them for each team and car. We learned a lot about the amount of time it takes to put them together and the mass of tyres they bring (and go through) at each circuit.

Red Bull Energy Station Tour

After the more technical aspects of the Paddock and Track Tour, we walked past all the hospitality venues for each team. We stopped in Red Bull Racing's Energy Station where we were treated to a beverage and learned about the steering wheels and how technical and specific they are to each driver. This was the last stop on our Paddock and Track Tour before heading back to the Paddock Club party!

Guided Paddock Tour - Damon Hill

This is a shot from the Guided Paddock Tour which is available to all Legend Ticket Package guests. During this tour on Saturday (or Sunday) guests are guided through the paddock with an F1® Experiences guide and may get to meet drivers, team owners, past drivers (like here meeting Damon Hill), or even the CEO of Formula One, Chase Carey!

Champions Club 2

Throughout Saturday and Sunday, Champion Ticket Package guests were able hang out with us in the Champions Club and enjoy food, beverages, and excellent views of the circuit. In this photo, guests looked out our windows towards the start of the race! Some enjoyed the air conditioning while others went out on the balcony looking over the circuit. Champion Ticket Package guests also got to meander down to Gold 5 Grandstand to watch the race!

Podium Ceremony Belgian GP

To cap off the adventurous weekend in Belgium, our Legend and Ultimate Legend guests got the chance to charge the circuit and be at the front of the pack to stand in awe of the race champions! We were up close and under the champagne showers for the Podium Ceremony. We were able to stay the entire ceremony and it will be a time forever stamped in every guest’s memory.

Get Your Champagne Shower

We're missing our time in Belgium already, but now we're looking forward to the 2018 FORMULA 1 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX where we will get to experience this all over again, and more! Be sure to secure your tickets for next year so we can have a blast all over again. If you were able to come experience Spa-Francorchamps this past weekend, comment below with your favorite experience throughout the weekend!
