Where to stay for the 2018 French Grand Prix

marseille-french-grand-prix

The French Grand Prix returns to the Formula 1® calendar in 2018 after a ten-year absence. Join us on 21-24 June at Circuit Paul Ricard to Experience F1 and don’t forget to add one of our specially selected hotels to your Official Ticket Package.

Given the circuit’s semi-rural location on the Côte d'Azur, good hotels nearby are at a premium on Grand Prix weekend. Luckily, we’ve secured rooms at some of the best hotels in the region. Whether you are interested in history and culture or the great outdoors, we’ve got you covered. And remember, all hotel stays booked with F1 Experiences include daily transfers to and from the circuit.

Marseille

Founded by Greek traders in 600BC, Marseille is France’s oldest city. In recent years, this tough port city has been going through something of a renaissance. The ancient cobbled streets of the Vieux Port (Old Port) and Le Panier (Old Town) haven’t changed much in centuries, but new investment is transforming the cultural and economic landscape of this dynamic, multicultural city. France’s second biggest city is just 40km (25mi) from Circuit Paul Ricard and makes a great base for the French Grand Prix. Book your 4-night stay with F1 Experiences at the Golden Tulip in the vibrant docks district of Marseille near the historic Old Port, or the AC Hotel Marseille Prado Velodrome in the quieter Prado district just outside the city center.

Hotel Mercure Brignoles Golf de Barbaroux

Golf

Fancy adding a round or two of golf to your French GP holiday? Secure your 5-night stay at the beautiful Hotel Mercure Brignoles Golf de Barbaroux and you’ll be able to indulge both your passions! Set among vineyards approximately 55km (34 mi) from the circuit, this 3-star hotel also features a spa and two restaurants. The 18-hole Barbaroux golf course has been ranked among the top 50 courses in Europe. Here’s how Peter Haslam of Golf World magazine describes the course: “Barbaroux is one of the rare golf courses where every hole is ‘unforgettable’ and where the greens are fast and honest. If I was to spend the rest of my life playing the same French golf course, it would be Barbaroux.”

Toulon

The smaller port city of Toulon is also worth considering as your base for the French Grand Prix. Book a 5-night stay at the Hôtel Kyriad Prestige Toulon – La-Seyne-sur-Mer in Toulon harbor, which is only 33km (20 mi) from the circuit. Don’t leave Toulon without taking a trip on the cable car up to the top of Le Mont Faron, the mountain which overlooks the city.

Hotel Dolce Fregate Provence

Beach

The sandy beaches in the Côte d'Azur are among the best in Europe, and the weather is really starting to warm up in late June. Enjoy a 5-night stay with F1 Experiences at the recently renovated Hôtel Dolce Frégate Provence, just 21km (13 mi) from Paul Ricard. This stunning 4-star hotel looks out over the Mediterranean and features indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a tennis court, spa and fitness center.

Hotels can be booked separately, or as part of your Official Ticket Package to the 2018 French Grand Prix.
