Concerts

After rock and pop-themed concerts in recent years, the Bahrain Grand Prix organisers have signed up two of the world's biggest DJs for performances at this year's race. Dutch superstar DJ Martin Garrix headlines the trackside concert on Friday night (20:45-23:30) and Norwegian DJ Kygo mans the decks on Saturday night (19:30-23:00).

Entertainment

The F1 Village area behind the Main Grandstand will be the place to go this weekend for the best off-track entertainment, including circus performers on the big stage, extreme rides, roaming performance troupes, a special children’s marquee and the F1 Fanzone with interactive displays. A special autograph session with the F1 drivers will also take place in the F1 Fanzone from 14:00-16:00 on Sunday before the race.

F1 Experiences

Our weekend kicks off on Thursday evening with an exclusive Pit Lane Walk, Drive the Track Tour and Starting Grid Photo with the Championship Trophies for Starter, Trophy, Hero and Premier guests. Lando Norris from McLaren will be the special guest for our Paddock Club Reception on Friday night.

On-Track Action

  • The F1 cars hit the track for two 90-minute practice sessions on Friday (14:00-15:30 and 18:00-19:30), a final 60-minute practice session on Saturday afternoon (15:00-16:00) before qualifying from 18:00-19:00 on Saturday evening. The 2018 Bahrain Grand Prix begins just after sunset on Sunday evening at 18:10.
  • Supporting the main event will be F1’s main feeder series, Formula 2, which begins a new season in Bahrain this weekend. This year's grid includes Mick Schumacher, son of 7-time World Champion Michael and Colombian Tatiana Calderon, the first ever female driver to compete in the series. In addition to practice and qualifying sessions, Formula 2 will stage two races — a longer feature race on Saturday afternoon starting at 13:10 and a shorter sprint race on Sunday, which begins at 14:15. It’s worth getting to the track early to catch the F2 races, which normally involve lots of close wheel-to-wheel action.
  • The single-make Porsche GT3 Cup Middle East series will also be in action with two races taking place over the course of the weekend. Several local drivers will be battling for the spoils in the 19-car field.

Please note that the event schedule is subject to change. Please check Formula1.com for full schedule and updates or download the “F1 Grand Prix” app for IOS or Android.
